Sandro

Rock'n'roll
attitude

Pau, rue Joffre.

Rock’n’roll vibe

Pau, rue Joffre. Facing one another on either side of the street are Maje, and the newly-opened boutique Sandro. But don’t go thinking that they are in competition; they are actually both owned by the Lahillonnes, a pleasant, enterprising couple who complement each other to perfection.

Pierre works in the background, while Fabienne busies herself between the two boutiques. A multi-talented, independent thinker, Pierre has a flair for spotting a good business opportunity. “When I found out that this boutique was up for sale, right opposite Maje, I didn’t think twice. And if I was going to set up a shop, the brand name might as well belong to the same group, SMCP (Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot, editor’s note) as we get along extremely well with them.” Pierre likes a challenge, and he’s the one who makes the decisions. Used to ploughing his own furrow, this idiosyncratic Pau-born former sports journalist, MP’s assistant, and also private secretary to one of Pau’s more prominent Mayors, has become a property expert, which doesn’t stop him putting his expertise to work in his own personal projects. “Sandro is a unisex boutique, and complements what is already on offer in the rue Joffre. It’s interesting to show off the Sandro Man: refined, free, urban, individualistic, with a summer collection that combines nautical influences with a hint of the seventies.”  For women the brand revisits some of the fashion hits from the past, incorporating tie-dyeing, metallic leather and soft flounces in a range combining comfort and style. And just like the brand itself, over time, Pierre’s endless journey has only one aim: fulfilment.
