Il voulait être pilote d’hélico, sa mère voulait qu’il soit médecin ou rien.

Mais Grégory Grossé, aujourd’hui à la tête de MG Rénov, jeune entreprise de rénovation intérieure, a trouvé un autre chemin : « J’ai toujours été doué pour les travaux manuels ! ».

Il fait ses classes en Guyane auprès d’un homme qui lui apprend « à coups de règle sur les doigts » la menuiserie et la construction bois puis rentre en France où il met à profit son savoirfaire et ses compétences pluridisciplinaires auprès d’une clientèle de particuliers et de professionnels. À ses côtés, Stéphane Michel, carreleur et peintre de formation, qu’il a rencontré sur un chantier.Même état d’esprit, même curiosité, même façon de concevoir l’ensemble d’un projet. Intérieurs de maisons, d’appartements, de boutiques… le duo joue avec les matériaux, l’espace, les sols, les volumes et les couleurs afin d’optimiser au mieux les potentialités d’un lieu et fait tout de A à Z. Cuisine, salle de bains, salon, plafond suspendu, casquette avec éclairage, parquet découpé à la dimension de la pièce, pose de carrelage rectangulaire dans un produit de forme octogonale… Greg et Stéphane aiment les challenges. Et il suffit d’entrer dans les salons de coiffure 1609 à Pau et Iro by 1609 à Lons pour le constater : « C’est notre vitrine, le show-room de notre travail ! ». Chaque projet est réalisé clé en main : « Le but est de travailler en partenariat avec nos clients, d’être au plus près de leurs attentes, et de leur proposer notre petit grain de folie. » Et leur talent.

The MacGyvers of renovation

He wanted to be a helicopter pilot, his mother wanted him to be a doctor and nothing but. Grégory Grosse however had other ideas. Now manager of MG Rénov, a young interior renovation company, has forged his own path. “I’ve always been gifted when it comes to manual work!” 

He learnt his trade in Guyana, from a man who taught him carpentry and building with wood, punctuated by “slaps on the hand with a ruler” then went back to France to use his know-how and range of skills to work with both private individuals and professionals.  Working alongside him is Stéphane Michel, a trained tiler and painter that he met on a work site and who shares the same mindset, has the same inquisitive mind – characters that dovetail perfectly when it comes to tackling a new project. Interiors of homes, apartments or boutiques, the pair of friends experiment with materials, space, flooring, shapes and colors to bring out the best in their current location, and do everything from start to finish.
