Depuis 2010, Katty Brognoli veille sur les Herbes St-Jacques. Une adresse discrète d’initiés où elle délivre ses conseils avisés et ses tisanes bien-être.

« Les plantes m’ont toujours attirée. C’est peut-être lié à l’enfance, à ma grand-mère. La nature a tout à nous apporter, si on la respecte et si on l’écoute » introduit Katty. À l’écouter détailler ce qui est plus qu’une passion, on a du mal à l’imaginer dans sa première vie professionnelle d’inspecteur des assurances. Formée à la naturopathie et à l’herboristerie, elle a repris cette adresse culte qui existe depuis 1951. Entre tisanes et compléments alimentaires, Katty dit « essayer de trouver des solutions, dans le respect des personnes, en restant à ma place ; pas question de me substituer à la médecine, j’interviens en complément, j’aide au bien-être. »

Depuis un an, elle utilise le bio-well, un étonnant scanner d’empreintes digitales chargé d’établir un état du corps au moment M. « Je crois beaucoup aux soins de prévention et je cherche en permanence à trouver de nouveaux outils de connaissance. Mon métier ? Apprendre, pour mieux aider » résume-t-elle. Ici les gens entrent pour le conseil dans un lieu où l’on prend le temps. Dans ses projets, l’ouverture d’ici deux ans d’un autre espace, complémentaire. « Cette rue a une énergie particulière » conclut-elle avec douceur et un soupçon de mystère.

Since 2010, Katty Brognoli has been tending to the Herbes St-Jacques, an unassuming herbalist’s shop familiar to those in the know, where she gives informed advice and dishes out herbal teas to boost well-being.  

“I’ve always been fascinated by plants, probably because of my childhood and my grandmother. Nature has a lot to give if it is respected and understood.” says Katty. Listening to her describe her job which is more than a passion, it’s difficult to imagine her in her previous career as an insurance inspector. Having studied naturopathy and herbal medicine, she took over the vogue address that has been around since 1951. From herbal teas to food supplements, Katty explains that she tries “to find solutions that are respect people and where I don’t pretend to be something I’m not. Far be it from me to try and replace traditional medicine, I’m there to offer complementary solutions that help people feel good.” She has been using the bio-well for a year now: an astonishing fingerprint scanner used to determine a person’s physical health at a given time. “I’m a firm believer in preventive care and I’m always looking for new tools to help develop my knowledge. How would I describe my job? Learning so that I can help even more” she summarizes. Customers come here for advice in a place where people take the time to listen. One of her projects is to open another complementary boutique in two years’ time. “This street holds a special kind of energy” she murmurs mysteriously.
