Fondé en 1962 par la famille Mesples, La Bonne Maison est bien plus qu’une simple boutique multi-marques pour l’homme et la femme. C’est un univers d’élégance.

Virginie, avenante, la trentaine, porte fièrement les commandes de cette institution paloise qui existe depuis trois générations. La mode, elle aime ça. Elle l’a dans le sang.

C’est presque génétique : « Petite, je passais beaucoup de temps ici. Je venais avec des copines et on habillait les mannequins ! Mieux que de jouer à la poupée ! » C’est donc tout naturellement qu’après des études de commerce, elle se retrouve à diriger La Bonne Maison. « Je n’ai pas voulu changer l’âme de cet endroit, je l’ai juste dynamisé en y ajoutant quelques griffes dans l’air du temps, adaptées à une clientèle plus jeune. »

Proposant des marques de prêt-à-porter haut de gamme à l’élégance intemporelle et aux coupes parfaites, La bonne Maison offre, aux hommes et aux femmes, un vestiaire hétéroclite pour tous les jours parsemé de pièces coups de cœur avec de nombreuses marques telles que Hartford, Tara Jarmon, Trussardi, Harris Wilson, Strellson, Mc Grégor…

Le maître mot ici est l’élégance. Une élégance chic et décontractée pour des vêtements faciles à porter avec un style assuré et indépendant, épousant aussi bien la ville que les grands espaces. « Nous cultivons l’art d’être soi-même, toujours dans la tendance mais sans excentricité ».

Refusant l’uniformisation, Virginie privilégie la qualité des matières, les couleurs audacieuses et le raffinement des détails. Entourée d’une équipe féminine soudée, elle aime le contact avec sa clientèle « fidèle et agréable » et se met en quatre pour la combler. Ainsi LBM propose les retouches gratuites, et instantanées pour les clients qui habitent loin : « L’atelier est sur place, c’est notre petit plus ».

Virginie, an attractive thirty-something, is proud to be running a business that has been thriving for three generations and is regarded as something of an institution in Pau. She loves fashion, it’s in her genes. 

It’s almost hereditary: “when I was little, a spent a lot of time here. I used to come with friends and we dressed the models! It was better than playing dolls!”  So it was a natural follow-on from her business studies that she took over La Bonne Maison.  “I didn’t want to change the spirit of this place, I just gave it a new breath of life by adding a few labels that are currently in fashion, adapted to a younger clientele.”  

Proposing top-of-the-range prêt-à-porter garments with timeless elegance and perfectly cut, La Bonne Maison offers men and women an eclectic wardrobe of everyday wear, interspersed with  a few personal favourites and a whole range of labels like Hartford, Tara Jarmon, Trussardi, Harris Wilson, Strellson, Mc Gregor, to name but a few.

Virginie refuses conformity and prefers the quality of materials, bold colours and sophisticated detail. With a close-knit team of women working with her, she enjoys the contact with her “loyal, pleasant” customers and bends over backwards to make sure that they find what they were looking for. LBM proposes free alterations which can also be done immediately for customers who live far away:  “the sewing room is on site, that’s our little extra.”
