Artisan-joaillier-sertisseur créateur, le jeune et talentueux Yann Augé apprivoise le carbone, l’or, l’acier et le diamant avec passion et rigueur. Et donne le ton pour des bijoux de demain. Envie d’ailleurs, il quitte son Béarn natal pour la Suisse italienne et c’est sur les rives du lac Majeur qu’il découvre le métier.

Il avait 19 ans. En 2014, il donne le jour à ses premières créations, travaillant en parallèle avec de grands joailliers en tant que sertisseur de diamants. Aujourd’hui, ce passionné œuvre à Paris, en solo et vient d’achever deux collections de bagues racées, élégantes et contemporaines aux lignes pures et architecturées, où tout est fait entièrement à la main. Yann aime le contact avec la matière. Le contact et les contrastes. Le carbone et l’acier fin n’ont plus de secret pour lui. Il a su les domestiquer. « J’adore le côté léger, résistant, chic et sport du carbone qui s’oppose à merveille avec la brillance des diamants ; Et la dureté de l’acier fin qui permet un sertissage original, la tension. Le diamant est comme suspendu et sa lumière est incomparable. » Un travail minutieux pour des modèles remarquablement bien finis. Craftsman-jeweller-jewel setter and creator, talented young Yann Augé fashions carbon fibre, gold, steel and diamonds with passion and precision. And sets the tone for future trends in jewellery.

Hankering after a change of scenery, he left his native Bearn at the age of 19 for the Italian-speaking area of Switzerland and there on the banks of Lake Maggiore, he discovered the profession. In 2014, he put the finishing touches to his own first creations, while working alongside renowned jewellers as a diamond setter. Today, this dedicated craftsman works alone in Paris, where he has just completed two collections of classy, elegant, contemporary rings with simple, yet structured contours, and entirely handcrafted. Yann enjoys the contact with the materials he shapes and the contrasts between them. Carbon and stainless steel no longer hold any secrets from him. He has learnt how to bend them to his will. “I love the light, resistant, chic and sporty look that carbon fibre gives, and it makes a perfect contrast with glittering diamonds. And the hardness of stainless steel which offers an original setting. The diamond looks as if it is suspended and the light reflected through it is beyond compare.” Meticulous work to produce models with an outstanding finish.
