Next Step – Marie DOMERQ

Lève-toi

Get up and walk!

A gym and weights room on the ground floor, with consulting-rooms for physios and osteopaths, and on the first floor,  “Next Step, coaching”. Two welcoming armchairs and an open smile as Marie comes to greet you.

She is a pretty woman with a fun-loving personality and a figure flattered by perfect-fit jeans. This former lawyer who was born in Bordeaux and grew up in Royan, followed her husband to Pau and decided to become a personal trainer because she loved sport and had always done a lot of it. “I passed my sports training diploma and took the plunge. I have always liked communicating with others. In Bayonne I used to give courses on property law. I liked connecting with people.”  Being a good listener, she has devised for her centre a fitness regime that combines yoga, Pilates, stretching, circuit training, running, dietary advice and personalised support:  “I treat each client as an individual and I like helping others whether they are sports amateurs or elite athletes.”  Marie also gives her support to breast cancer research, as she and her best friend Celine’s husband have set up the “Pour Céline” Association which organises a women-only fun run around the lake at Hossegor. All funds gained from this “Orange Run” are donated to the Oncology Unit at Toulouse. There’s no doubt about it; this lady has a heart of gold.
