A hangout for Epicureans!

A ball of energy or a calming influence, always on the go, or cool and collected, Rémi or Adrien? The Gueuleton wine bar is just like its owners: eclectic, animated, and exactly what it says on the tin.

It’s the story of the Gueuleton concept that started out in 2013 in Agen and promotes good local produce. It all began with a wine bar opened by Vincent, Arthur and Victor, as a natural extension of the epicurean community, and a hangout where Adrien and Rémi first met. One is an urban planning manager, the other director of an architects’ office. They decided to export the concept to Pau, and spent two long years building the project and their friendship together.

“Perseverance, honesty, a carefree attitude and a kind of innocence with respect to our profession, actually helped us,” explains Adrien. At 30 and 26 years old, the two neo-entrepreneurs scraped all their savings together and opened the Gueuleton, made in Pau.  They add their own personal touch to the selection of wines, cured meats and local cheeses; platters of meat to share, carefully prepared by their chef Émeric and served by the bubbly waitress, Charlotte. “We wanted to create a place that was cosy, warm and welcoming, with a fun-loving atmosphere” add the two associates. Adrien and Rémi are like the yin and yang of the wine bar scene, a perfect balance of composure and energy, qualities shared by their friend Bastien, and chef at Ô Petit Pau.  “The strength of our generation is a combination of our audacity, knowing our way around the social networks, enthusiasm and our determination to move forward,” adds Rémi. The enterprising pair are just starting out, but give the impression of a partnership that already has years of experience behind it.
